3. Asphalt and bitumen-based floors

Asphalt and bitumen, in addition to their well-known applications in road surfacing and waterproofing, are also widely used in industrial flooring. A distinction is made between :

  • coverings requiring a concrete substrate: asphalt screeds, asphalt tiles, bitumen-improved cement screeds;

  • asphalt mixes applied to a foundation, such as cement- or bitumen-based gravel.
