7. Conclusion
For a few years, or even a few decades, it was believed that daylighting could be dispensed with. This view, which prevailed after the Second World War, is partly linked to the tremendous economic boom of the period. It is based on the considerable evolution of technology and stems essentially from the belief, inherited from the Age of Enlightenment, that man is destined to dominate the world, a belief which evolved into the belief that man could free himself from the forces of nature.
With regard to the environment close to man, also known as "ambient factors", this conception reflects a mechanistic approach to man, considered as a physical, and possibly physiological, system.
