
5. Recycling reaction products
The product of the hydrolysis reaction, magnesium hydroxide Mg(OH) 2 , is solid and has a variety of applications. It is particularly noteworthy for its non-toxicity, thermal stability as MgO oxide and antibacterial activity. The high stability of magnesia makes MgO an additive (non-halogenated, non-polluting and non-corrosive) capable of delaying the ignition time of polymeric materials
