3.1 Transfer of the plant to the owner

The lifespan of PV installations should not be confused with the duration of the purchase contract for the electricity produced. While purchase contracts are generally for 20 years, the actual lifespan of a photovoltaic installation is estimated at over 40 or 50 years, using quality components and with regular maintenance.

At the end of a purchase contract, several options are available.

In the case of a roof or land lease, the owner of the property generally becomes the owner of the solar power plant.
