
3. Importance of technology choice for energy optimization
When it comes to defining a complete plant, the engineer has to undertake various operations relating to heat exchangers, two of the most important of which are technology selection and sizing. The aim of this section is to highlight the criteria that guide the choice of heat exchanger technology, and the influence of this decision on energy performance. The importance of the sizing aspect will be discussed in the fourth part of this article.
