2. Assessing exposure by measuring and characterizing aerosols emitted during AF

2.1 Context

In parallel with the significant increase in the use of nanomaterials during the 2000s, methods for assessing potential exposure to aerosols during operations involving nanomaterials were initially the subject of national initiatives. In France, for example, a guide drafted jointly by INRS (Institut national de recherche et de sécurité), INERIS (Institut national de l'environnement industriel et des risques) and CEA (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives) was published in 2011.
