4. Different technologies
This chapter deals with the various additive manufacturing technologies used to produce ceramic parts. For each process, the principle involved, its advantages and limitations, and examples of applications will be presented. For some processes, additional information on process modeling or parameters to be controlled will be provided.
It should be noted that most processes used to produce ceramic parts by additive manufacturing generate raw parts consisting of a ceramic material and an organic phase. These parts then require debinding (extraction of the organic phase) and sintering heat treatments to consolidate the part. The shrinkage induced by densification during sintering is of the order of 10 to 20%.
