4. Standards, health and regulatory aspects
Societal acceptance of textiles incorporating nanotechnologies is a delicate matter, particularly in Europe. Assessing the risks associated with these textiles, from manufacture to end-of-life, is a fundamentally important task that needs to be taken into account. Scientists' lack of experience in this field, combined with a lack of knowledge, is holding back the introduction of common regulations.
