4. Conclusion

Magnetic nanostructures, whether derived from natural growth processes or artificial fabrication techniques, exhibit an extremely wide range of shapes, sizes and behavior. In this contribution, only a small part of the research activities has been presented, but we have tried to show the diversity of structures and the diversity of magnetic properties of such structures. The industrial future of magnetic nanostructures lies in the mastery of manufacturing processes (reproducibility, cost) and in a better understanding of the new concepts that have emerged with the reduction in the physical size of magnetic objects.
