Target; Cible
Elements such as people, equipment, property or the various components of the environment, likely to suffer damage under certain circumstances as a result of exposure to the hazard.
Danger; Hazard
Property intrinsic to a substance (butane, chlorine, etc.), a technical system (pressurization of a gas, etc.), an arrangement (elevation of a load, etc.), an organism (microbes), etc., likely to cause damage to a target.
Effect of a dangerous phenomenon – Vecteur d'escalade; Escalation vector
Characteristics of the physical, chemical and other phenomena associated with the hazard in question: heat flow, toxic concentration, overpressure, missile projection, etc.
Événement redouté central; Major hazard event – Top event
