4.1 Regulations

It's not uncommon for project owners or prime contractors in charge of industrial projects in the agri-food sector to put forward food hygiene requirements which, in their view, run counter to the French Labour Code.

In such situations, experience shows that regulations are often complementary, never contradictory.

Here are a few concrete examples:

Walls: food hygiene regulations stipulate that walls must be made of impact-resistant, waterproof, rot-proof, smooth and easy-to-clean materials.

These requirements do not preclude acoustic treatment of the premises: materials with real acoustic properties are now available on the market, meeting the requirements of food hygiene...
