2.1 Context
On Saturday August 3, 1985, at 3:48 pm, the Capdenac-Brive 7924 railcar and the Paris-Rodez 6153 railcar, travelling in opposite directions on this track, collided 150 m from the Pradelles bridge in the commune of Durbans, near the Flaujac station. The consequences: 32 people killed, two locomotives and several wagons destroyed. How could such a catastrophe happen?
