2. Types of laboratories, their risks and different building classifications
Chemistry, biology and physics research laboratories are characterized by different elements.
2.1 Chemical laboratories
In these laboratories, researchers usually handle relatively small quantities of liquid, solid or gaseous products (from a few milligrams to a few hundred grams...). However, the large number of manipulations carried out at the same time can lead to a relatively large quantity of products in the premises (up to 100 kg).
It is not uncommon to find over a thousand product references with very different physico-chemical and toxic properties in a single laboratory, some of which may be incompatible, leading to sometimes violent reactions. All types of hazardous products are present in these laboratories.
