4. Principles for updating the DUERP

This section details the potential items to be taken into account when updating the DUERP.

4.1 In the event of crises and incidents

Crisis management and incident management are also an integral part of updating a DUERP. The COVID-19 pandemic is a case in point: a crisis or incident can lead to the need to update the identification and assessment of occupational risks and associated measures. In this case, the biological risk may be assessed as increasing from low to high exposure for employees in the various work units. It should be noted that customer-facing work units were particularly exposed.

Also, in the case below, a serious incident led the company to revise its risk exposure upwards and update its DUERP.
