Continuous fibers or filaments
Some materials can be efficiently produced as continuous filaments or fibers, i.e. with very small diameters (a few micrometers) and long lengths. For composites, given their mechanical characteristics/mass ratio, glass fibers ( = 5 to 24 µm)
