In view of the fact that commonly used composite materials are not easily recyclable, the use of biocomposites (a combination of biopolymers and natural fibers) should make it easier to manage production waste and end-of-life parts through composting. Although they are not yet widely used, the large-scale development of biocomposites involves, among other things, optimizing fiber/biopolymer adhesion to give the material good mechanical properties. To achieve this, it is possible to implement surface treatment methods for natural fibers, either physical or chemical, which must not suppress the fibers' initial biodegradability properties.
