3. Biomass valorization

With the development of bio-based polymer materials, dependence on fossil resources for the production of all kinds of additives used in polymer composition has become problematic. Thus, the synthesis of reactive phosphorus-based biosourced flame retardants through the valorization of agro-resources used as raw materials has become a subject of great interest. It is in this context that certain biosourced compounds have been functionalized with phosphorus groups and used as phosphorus-containing flame retardants in epoxy resins. Most of these studies are based on the reactive approach.
