3. Biomass valorization
With the development of bio-based polymer materials, dependence on fossil resources for the production of all kinds of additives used in polymer composition has become problematic. Thus, the synthesis of reactive phosphorus-based biosourced flame retardants through the valorization of agro-resources used as raw materials has become a subject of great interest. It is in this context that certain biosourced compounds have been functionalized with phosphorus groups and used as phosphorus-containing flame retardants in epoxy resins. Most of these studies are based on the reactive approach.
3.1 Biobased phosphorus flame retardants from triglycerides
Triglycerides are the major components of vegetable oils, and are used in a growing number of industrial applications...

Standards and norms
The French decree of November 21, 2002 (as amended) on the reaction to fire of construction and fitting-out products, now introduces "euroclasses" of reaction to fire. Euroclasses, defined in European standard EN 13501-1, are a system of classification into five categories of requirement: A1, A2, B, C, D, E, F.
