5. Moulding of mass-produced parts
These processes are designed to produce 500 to 1,500 parts per day, finished directly on the moulding line.
Thermoplastic composites reinforced with continuous fibers in the form of woven fabric, chopped strand mat, and UD (unidirectional) or directionalized grids cannot be processed by thermocompression, or by co-molding with a natural or non-flowable composite material.
5.1 Thermocompression molding
This process is used for both stampable thermoplastic sheets and wood stock (polypropylene sheet filled with sawdust).
