6. Conclusion
The centrifugal casting technique is reserved for the manufacture of hollow bodies, which seriously limits its field of application. Associated with this technology is the difference in the material's mechanical properties between axial and tangential orientations, intrinsic to the processing method.
Other factors limit the range of applications, in particular the complexity of the mechanical construction required to produce large-diameter parts. It is therefore essential to carefully evaluate the processing technique to be used, depending on the type of part to be made and the desired output rates.
Centrifugation is currently well established for the manufacture of sewer pipes up to around 2 m in diameter, and single-skin above-ground or underground storage units up to 4 m in diameter.
