6. MBF method developed by the IEC

6.1 Origin and background

In 1999, the International Electrotechnical Committee drew up its first application guide on MBF: IEC 60300-3-11 . The methodology described is largely based on MSG-3 procedures, but is also applicable to a wide variety of equipment other than aircraft.
