3. Defining professions

If you're looking for a pragmatic approach to the various maintenance professions, you can draw on a number of different sources, each with its own philosophy and methodology.

3.1 ROME directory

The precise definition of all maintenance professions is not obvious. Until recently, these professions were not even included in official job classifications, such as the ROME (Répertoire opérationnel des métiers et des emplois) published by the ANPE [1] .
