Maintenance; maintenance

All technical, administrative and management actions during the life cycle of an asset, designed to maintain or restore it to a state in which it can perform the required function (according to NF-EN-13306).

Reliability

Ability of a system or equipment to perform a required function under given conditions over a given time interval.

Level of inherent reliability; inherent reliablity

Value of the reliability of a component or piece of equipment that can be achieved through an effective scheduled maintenance program.

Inability of a piece of equipment to perform as specified.
