5. Conclusion

This article describes the various technologies involved in humanoid walking robots. Recent years have seen a number of spectacular technological advances, notably in high-performance robots such as ATLAS and Schaft. Their acquisition by Google and the fact that they are based on relatively different technologies show the potential of these platforms. It's also worth noting that TORO and REEM-C were designed in less than two or three years, whereas it took the first teams ten years to converge on stable platforms. It's worth noting, however, that these two robots come from teams with a good deal of experience in robotics in general.
