The law traditionally distinguishes between public international law, which lays down legal rules applicable to States and international organizations, and private international law, which governs relations between private persons, individuals and legal entities such as companies.
A public-private partnership (PPP) is a financing method whereby a public authority calls on private service providers to finance and manage a facility that provides or contributes to a public service.
