2.1 New family of standards: the "2000 product line
The current collection of the ISO 9000 family is built around some twenty normative texts.
A mapping of these standards (figure 2 ) classifies them into the following four categories:
roadmaps", with ISO 8402 on terminology and ISO 9000-1 on quality concepts;
quality management recommendations with the ISO 9004 series of standards;
quality assurance models, ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003, as a basis for third-party certification;
