3. Adjustable dock railings
Adjustable ramps are designed to compensate for the difference in level between the height of a dock and the loading surface of a docked vehicle, and to provide a continuous link between the two. These devices are integral with the dock, protruding from it or embedded in the loading surface.
They can be manually operated or actuated by an electro-hydraulic or pneumatic control mechanism.
The use of an adjustable ramp ensures personnel safety and speeds up truck loading and unloading operations. There are three types of ramp:
manually operated ramps, where the platform movement is balanced by a counterweight or spring;
