4. Equipment

Forklift attachments are additional devices that can be mounted on the fork carriage of forklift trucks or stackers, to facilitate the gripping of particular loads and perform additional movements.

Adapting a piece of equipment to a forklift modifies its balance and therefore its stability. Its effective capacity must therefore be redetermined. The capacity plates carried by the forklift must be changed. According to European regulations, only the forklift manufacturer or his representative is authorized to do this, or, in the case of adaptation of new equipment to an existing forklift, the forklift manufacturer or his representative. Operators must receive special training.
