2. Ene-ynes metathesis
Unsaturated compounds other than olefins have been implicated in metathesis reactions, in particular alkynes. When alkynes and olefins are present in the same molecule, interesting cyclizing metathesis reactions can take place, and intermolecular reactions between an olefin and an alkyne can also take place (cross-metathesis).
