Since Ampère, general mechanics has been divided into two branches, both for reasons of substance and pedagogy.
2.1 General kinematics
The object of kinematics is the study of movements in themselves, i.e. independently of the causes that produce them.
This involves, for example, finding the relationship between the rotational speed of the output shaft of a transmission joint and the rotational speed of the input shaft (figure 3 a ).
