1. Essential oils

First of all, it's worth recalling what is meant by the term "essential oil". Several definitions coexist, differing according to the type of use (pharmaceutical, aromatic, cosmetic, etc.).

According to the standard ISO 9235   An essential oil is defined as "a product obtained from a raw material of plant origin, after separation of the aqueous phase by physical processes, either by steam distillation, or by mechanical processes from the epicarp of Citrus fruit, or by dry distillation".
